The Lady Vikes get a quality conference win behind a breakout night from Claire Harris. The junior had 27 points and 5 assists. Harris eclipsed her previous career high of 22 points set last year. Kinsey Scheffler and Kailey Jones each had 15 points and 8 rebounds while Claire Denning scored 10. Underwood was led by Leah Hall with 20 points.
CAM 78, West Harrison 44
The 10-2 Cougars keep getting big contributions from Zoey Baylor and Sammi Jahde. CAM led by 8 at the end of the first quarter and then a 22-4 second quarter advantage essentially put the game out of reach. Baylor had 20 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Jahde made all 7 of her 2-point field goal tries. Jahde and Marissa Speiker each compiled 4 steals. Grace Hensley scored well above her average with 7 points on 3/4 shooting.
Griswold 49, Essex 33
After starting the season with nine straight losses the Griswold girls have won back-to-back games. They trailed by two at the end of the first quarter, but posted a 15-7 second quarter advantage to lead 25-19 at half. Mikala Pelzer had 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 steals. McKenna Wiechman’s night included 12 points. Hope Ogg turned in arguably the most impressive stat line with 11 points, 10 assists, and 4 steals.
Nodaway Valley 77, East Union 21
Nodaway Valley’s pressure defense overwhelmed a young Eagle team and the Wolverines scored 56 points in the first half. Maddax Devault ended the night with 19 points followed by Alyssa Davis with 14, Lexi Shike 12, and Corinne Bond 11.
