(Corning) One person was killed and two others were injured in two-vehicle accident in Adams County Saturday morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at Highway 34 and Ginkgo Avenue at approximately 10:47 a.m. 26-year-old Karmen Grabill, of Hamlin, was killed in the accident. 54-year-old Wannita Olson, of Corning, was transported to CHI Hospital in Corning by Adams County Rescue. A 5-year-old from Corning was transported to Blanks Children’s Hospital by LifeNet.
Karmen Grabill was driving a 2010 Freightliner Semi northbound on Ginkgo Avenue. Wannita Olson was driving a 2012 Chevy Traverse westbound on Highway 34. Grabill failed to stop/yield at the stop sign and was struck by Olson’s vehicle. The semi jackknifed and came to rest in the west ditch of Ginkgo Avenue. The Chevy Traverse came to rest north of the intersection.
The accident remains under investigation.
