Update: One Person Injured in Truck vs Combine Accident in Audubon County

(Audubon Co.) An Audubon man was injured in a truck vs combine accident in Audubon County Sunday evening.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened on Falcon Avenue, south of 260^th Street, at 6:19 p.m. A 2022 John Deere combine, driven by 74-year-old David Lee Madsen of Audubon, was traveling northbound on Falcon Avenue. A 2010 Chevrolet Silverado K2500, driven by 26-year-old Timothy Asmus of Audubon, was traveling southbound on Falcon Avenue. Both vehicles collided head-on just south of the hillcrest, south of 260^th Street.

The Chevy Silverado caught fire after going into the west ditch. Timothy Asmus was transported to Audubon County Memorial Hospital by Elk Horn Rescue with suspected serious injuries.

David Madsen was not injured.
