(Neola, IA) — Tri Center’s football team has been going through a tumultuous season — the entire coaching staff has been suspended and the Principal and Boys Basketball Head Coach Chad Harder has taken over as the Interim Head Coach. The Tri Center Community School District will not comment on what exactly happened but before the Missouri Valley game in Week 7, there was something that has since caused the change in coaches.
The School District has released the following statement: “The TC Football Coaching staff have been put on Administrative leave. At no point was the safety of any student athlete a concern. The district will not comment further about this personnel issue. We are trying to move forward and give the kids the best experience in finishing the season.”
Harder has Junior High football coaching experience and he has gotten some help from others in the school system that have coaching experience. Senior QB AJ Harder says the team has been united through it all
Harder says he has had to coach the coaches
The other issue is injuries; Tri Center is missing a total of six players who could be starters on both sides of the ball. Senior WR and CB Rylan Ring says that does make things any easier
Tri Center lost to Shenandoah last week 54-49 but have still qualified for the playoffs and visit West Lyon this Friday.
There is no word yet about the future of the coaching staff and whether they will be allowed back at Tri Center.
