(Harlan) The Harlan football team looks to carry its momentum Friday night as the Cyclones travel to Perry. Harlan is coming off a dominant second-half performance in a 57-29 win over Creston last Friday.
The Cyclones and Panthers were tied 14-14 at halftime, and Harlan briefly trailed 17-14 early in the third quarter. From there, the Cyclones took control, scoring 43 unanswered points, including 29 in the fourth quarter.
Coach Bladt is preparing his team for an explosive Perry offense. The Blue Jays have rushed for 1,257 yards, and thrown for 182. Nadir Ouahbi leads the rushing attack with 12 carries for 709 yards and three touchdowns, including a 66-yard jaunt to the house.
Coach Bladt says defensively Perry has defenders that like to make plays out in space.
Harlan enters the contest with 523 passing yards, and 1,029 rushing. Levi Shields (283), Henry Mgonja (156), and Kreed Boggess (124) lead the Cyclones’ rushing attack. Cach Bladt says the blocking has improved; Cyclones owed well in the win over Creston last week.
The game kicks off at 7:00 at Perry.
