(Des Moines) — Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds has signed a proclamation temporarily suspending state penalties for the use of dyed diesel fuel in vehicles transporting certain agricultural products on Iowa public roads.
The proclamation, effective immediately through February 2, 2027, follows an executive order issued by President Donald Trump.
The suspension applies to vehicles hauling soybeans, corn, hay, straw, silage, stover, fertilizer, manure, and distiller’s grains. It also temporarily suspends certain regulations related to the sale and use of dyed diesel for those purposes.
The proclamation applies to qualifying loads transported on any public road in Iowa.
On September 10, Reynolds signed a separate proclamation allowing overweight loads of certain agricultural products to be transported without requiring an overweight permit.
