(Atlantic) The Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce is turning up the heat on local shopping, dining and fun with a new fall campaign, Fire Up the Deals, happening Saturday, October 10th.
The idea is simple: come to Atlantic early, take advantage of deals and activities around town, grab something to eat and then head downtown for the annual Atlantic Volunteer Fire Department Fireman’s Parade at 6 p.m.
“We love finding new ways to get people out exploring Atlantic and supporting our local businesses,” said Kelsey Beschorner, Executive Director of the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce. “The Fireman’s Parade already brings so many people to town, so we thought, why not give them a reason to come early and make a whole day of it?”
And Fire Up the Deals isn’t limited to traditional retail sales. Businesses and organizations are getting creative with discounts, specials, freebies and activities of their own.
The Nishna Valley Family YMCA will offer free admission all day on October 10th, giving families a chance to let the kids burn off some energy before the evening parade. Jazzercise Atlantic is getting in on the fun with three free classes that day.
“A great deal doesn’t have to mean something is on sale,” Beschorner said. “We have such a variety of businesses and organizations in Atlantic, and this gives everyone a chance to participate in their own way. Maybe you’ll find a great sale, try a new class or visit somewhere you haven’t been before.”
The festivities actually begin the weekend before, as Atlantic kicks off Fire Prevention
