(Guthrie Center, IA) — AC/GC Football suffered their first loss of the season last Friday — 17-0 to Class A #4 ranked Madrid. There were only four combined passes thrown in the game between the two teams. The Tigers had 236 yards rushing while the Chargers were limited to just 67. This is the first regular season loss for AC/GC since October 14, 2022 to Van Meter. Head Coach Will Shull wants to see how his football team will face adversity
Shull likes how his defensive line played — holding Madrid to a season low in points and yards. The Offensive Line is coming along says Shull
Senior Cash Suhr anchors the line at center but has switched positions and Senior Garrett Lemke is a returning starter from last year and are both captains. Senior Carson Lovelace did not start last year but has emerged this year as a solid starter. The other two spots have been in flux
AC/GC is 4-1 and will play 4-1 Danville this Friday at a neutral field in Oskaloosa.
