(Des Moines, IA) — Two advocacy groups for Iowa crime victims have joined forces. Lindsay Pingel says the Coalitions Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault have merged and share a statewide network.
Pingel says providers helped over 52-thousand violent crime survivors across Iowa last year.
Pingel says crime victim advocates cannot serve all 99 counties in Iowa without state funding. She said if they do not have sustained investments from the state to ensure advocates are available, they are leaving survivors in a critical and incredibly vulnerable moment after a victimization.
