(Adair Co.) The Adair County Board of Supervisors received an update from Roland Purdy on the Veterans Memorial lighting project this morning.
Purdy serves on the committee overseeing the memorial stones located on the south side of the Adair County Courthouse property. He is working on plans to install lighting so the names of the veterans etched into the stones can be seen at night.
Purdy told the supervisors this morning that the committee has narrowed its selection to one company to complete the lighting project.
Purdy said the project would begin within two weeks of the committee giving the company the go-ahead. The estimated time to complete the project is two weeks.
Purdy also told the board that his offer to have the committee handle snow removal still stands. He said his understanding is that liability coverage is in place for committee members.
The supervisors approved a new motion authorizing the Veterans Memorial lighting project.
In other action, the supervisors approved repealing and rescinding Resolution No. 2026-45, the Adair County Data Center Regulatory Ordinance, because a public hearing must be held first.
The public hearing on the ordinance will be held September 23 at 9:15 a.m.
