(Greenfield) Greenfield Municipal Utilities is asking residents to conserve water.
According to GMU’s social media post, in the early morning hours today, September 9th, GMU began experiencing issues at the Water Treatment Plant. At this time, they are working to communicate with the appropriate entities and vendors to try to identify & correct the issue.
GMU is asking all customers to begin water conservation measures immediately. The water in the system is perfectly safe to consume, but without a remedy, they will likely run out of treated water to send to town at some point today. “While we hope we will not reach that critical point, we feel it is important to share the possibility with our customers as we ask for immediate water conservation. We will update GMU’s Facebook and website as often as needed throughout the day. Unfortunately, the office is unoccupied today, so please do not call for an update, as no one will be available to answer the phone.”
