(Ames, IA) — The Iowa St. football starts a new era this Saturday with new Head Coach Jimmy Rogers. On Monday, the Cyclones released their depth chart for their first game against Southeast Missouri.
ADM Alum Aiden Flora is listed number one at running back with Cameron Pettaway as his back up — that means Iowa St. will have two sophomores as their primary ball carriers.
Caden Maas won the job at Left Guard — Maas is a 6’5″ 315 pound transfer from the University of Sioux Falls which is a Division II school. Maas started 10 of 11 games last season; did not play all of 2024 and now makes the jump to Division I FBS.
Trevor Bindel will be the starter at Right Guard — Bindel is one of the many transfers that followed his coach from Washington St. Last year he only played in three games and ended up as a redshirt. Now he becomes a starter for the Cyclones.
Another unlikely name that will start this Saturday is Junior Willie Breland III at Strongside Linebacker. Breland was at Mississippi Gulf Coast Junior College last year and played cornerback.
Of the listed players on the depth chart, there are only a combined 23 starts in an Iowa St. uniform.
The Cyclones will face Southeast Missouri this Saturday, Cyclones Pre Game at 10 am, Kickoff Noon on KSOM.
