(Atlantic) Atlantic girls tennis player Dylin Ball and her doubles partner, Taryn O’Brien, won both of their matches last week against Shenandoah and Denison-Schleswig, remaining undefeated on the season. Ball also picked up two wins in singles competition, earning her the KS95.7 Armour Insurance Trojan Athlete of the Week.
Atlantic Head Coach Mike McDermott says Ball, who started playing tennis as a freshman, has improved considerably since taking up the sport.
Ball and O’Brien have played doubles together for the past couple of seasons, developing strong chemistry on the court.
Ball says serving is where she has seen the most improvement, and her success in singles play is built on confidence.
Because tennis is now a split season, Ball decided to help the boys’ team last spring by serving as a manager
The (4-1) Trojans host Creston on Tuesday afternoon and travel to Glenwood on Thursday.
