The Thunder claimed their first ever state championship in their first ever state title game. The Warriors built a 4-0 lead but Sophie Bird hit her third HR of the state tournament in the bottom of the third inning and it was a grand slam to tie it at 4-4. Moments later, Harper Rosado scored the go ahead run on a wild pitch to make it 5-4 Thunder. Grand View added a RBI grounder from Livy Van Der Sluis in the 4th and a RBI double from Maiah Murphy in the 6th to build a 7-4 lead. They would need those runs because the Warriors Maddie Ladeburg hit a 2 run HR in the top of the 7th but it was not enough lightning to beat the Thunder.

Iowa St. recruit Lauren Hagedorn throws a 4 hit shutout with 9 strikeouts to beat the Wildcats and win the Tigers first ever state title. It was the 2nd straight shutout for the Senior after beating Western Dubuque 7-0 with a 3 hit shutout on , striking out 8 in the semifinals. Hagedorn also did it with the bat hitting two home runs in the tournament.
