#1 Pleasantville 8, #4 Cascade 5
The Trojans scored 8 straight runs and will go for back to back state titles on Friday. The Cougars scored twice in the top of the first but Pleasantville answered with three in the bottom of the first. Easton Cox pitched 6 strong innings allowing 2 unearned runs on 7 hits, walked 3 and struck out 3. Cascade brought the tying run to the plate in the 7th but reliever Braylon Bingham got the final two outs to preserve the win.

4A Semifinals
#4 Pleasant Valley 5, #1 Sioux City East 4 (10)
The Spartans upset the top seeded Black Raiders in a 10 inning game — the final out of the game came at the plate. With a 5-4 lead going to the bottom of the 10th, East had runners on first and second. Callan Koch singled to right — Mason McCaw relayed it to 1B Lincoln Dalton who threw it home and C Evan Barr tagged out Sully Weimer to end the game. East tied the game on a throwing error in the bottom of the 9th to force extra innings. Jackson O’Melia had homered for Pleasant Valley in the top of the 9th but the Black Raiders forced another extra inning on a RBI bunt hit from Bohdy Colling. Mason Mcfate got a go ahead RBI double in the top of the 10th to set up the dramatic play to end it. Pleasant Valley will go to the state championship game for the first time since winning at title in 2021
