(Area) A line of thunderstorms pushed through southwest Iowa on Saturday morning. The National Weather Service issued severe thunderstorm warnings for Pottawattamie and Mills counties between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. The Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, Nebraska, extended those warnings for western Cass County, including Marne, Atlantic, the Atlantic Airport, Lewis, and Griswold, as well as Montgomery, Adams, Page, Ringgold, Taylor, and Union Counties.
One inch hail was reported one mile southwest of Hastings in the Hillsdale area of Mills County.
Southwest Iowa residents, do not let your guard down; another round of severe weather is forecast this afternoon. According to the National Weather Service, widespread severe storms are expected in central and southern Iowa this afternoon. All severe hazards are possible: damaging winds, large hail, heavy rain, and an isolated tornado. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches could lead to flash flooding as the rivers and streams rise.
