(Lee County) A kangaroo spotted wandering along Highway 103 in Lee County has been safely returned home. The animal was reported missing last Thursday.
“We’re happy to report no deputies were injured in the pursuit, no citations were issued, and the suspect was released on its own recognizance,” the Lee County Iowa Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
They reported that two of their deputies were able to successfully reunite the kangaroo with its owner on Friday. The owner says they believe vandals damaged the property, allowing the animal to escape.
