(Omaha/Valley) The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Fremont, southern Montgomery, and Page counties in southwestern Iowa until 9:30 PM CDT.
At 4:25 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have already fallen, with up to 2 additional inches possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, and other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Locations that may experience flash flooding include Red Oak, Clarinda, Shenandoah, Villisca, Hamburg, Sidney, Essex, Stanton, Farragut, Riverton, College Springs, Coin, Shambaugh, Braddyville, Yorktown, Imogene, Northboro, Coburg, Blanchard, and Hepburn.
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
