(Avoca, IA) — Harlan was leading AHSTW 10-3 in the top of the 5th inning but the game was suspended because the lights would not come on. The Cyclones were still batting with one on and 2 outs when the umpire called the game because of darkness — it will be completed on a different date.
Harlan scored four runs in the top of the first — Taylor Heese got a one out RBI single; Brynn Schumacher reached on an error to score a run and Suzy Kenkel drilled a 2 run double.
AHSTW answered with two in the bottom of the first — Halle Goodman had a leadoff base hit and Bella Lamp smacked a RBI triple and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Clara Pace.
With a 4-2 lead, Harlan scored four more runs in the top of the 3rd on two Lady Vikes errors and two walks plus a 2 run single from Lauren Schmitz.
The Lady Vikes got a leadoff double from Rylinn Madden in the bottom of the third, stole 3rd base and scored on a bad throw.
Heese got a 2 out double in the top of the 5th and scored on a wild pitch when darkness halted the game.
Kenkel went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI to lead the Cyclones.
