(Atlantic) State qualifying track and field meets get underway at 4:00 p.m. across the state today. Atlantic travels to Glenwood today and will compete against Denison-Schleswig, Creston, Harlan Community, Carroll, ADM, and Des Moines-Christian.
Atlantic Head Girl’s Track Coach Matt Mullenix says his squad will be competing against some solid teams today.
The top two teams in each event will automatically qualify for the state track meet with the next eight fastest times, heights, and distances.
Atlantic Head Boys’ Track Coach Abby Becker says they have been working on a lineup for the state-qualifying meet over the past two weeks.
Becker says assistant coach Bryce Smith has been breaking down the numbers.
The field events start at 4:00 p.m., and the running events begin at 4:45 in Glenwood later today. We will have reports from Glenwood starting at around 4:20 this afternoon, and will provide live reports on KS95.7 twice an hour throughout the evening.
