(Avoca, IA) — Wins were hard to come by last year for AHSTW Softball but injuries were easy to come by — the Lady Vikes never had the line up that Head Coach Katie Pace wanted on the field in 2025 and the result was just six wins. This year, two players are back on the field — Kendra Nelson and Bella Lamp and Pace says they make a huge difference
With Nelson and Lamp back, Clara Pace will have some hitters around her — the freshman last year hit .467 with 14 RBI and 12 doubles. Pace is excited about some of her other younger players
AHSTW does lose their number one pitcher Sienna Christian from last year so Pace is going to take a by committee approach with the team’s only senior Halle Goodman who returns with pitching experience from last year and Nelson will see some time in the circle as well
AHSTW will open their season on Monday, May 25 against Logan Magnolia
