(Atlantic) Atlantic secured five first place finishes and won their second straight Bruce Henderson Relays on Monday on their home Track.
Ethan McNeal captured the 100 meters, narrowly defeating Cale Hall of Red Oak, 10.80 to 10.92, with McNeal’s time marking a season personal best. He also led the field in the long jump with a top mark of 21-05.00. Mason Betts claimed victory in the 1600 meters in 4:40.24.
The Trojans earned a win in the shuttle hurdle relay, as Grant Petty, Zander Killion, and Shelton Mualia posted a season-best 1:01.86. The team closed the meet with another first-place performance in the 4×400 relay, where Hagen, Williams, DeVore, and Burcham clocked 3:37.42.
Atlantic secured several runner-up finishes, Mualia in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.64, the 4×200 relay team of (Preston Williams, Sawyer Tarrell, Corbin Ritter, and Landon Hagen) in 1:36.07, the 800 sprint medley relay (Benton McLaren, Burcham, Killion, and Petty) in 1:39.92, and the 4×800 relay of (Ritter, Tarrell, Williams, and Betts) in a time of 8:47.64.
Thomas Engler placed third in the 3200 meters (11:58.56), and eighth in the 800 Meters in 2:20.62, while Sawyer Tarrell was third in the 400-meter hurdles (58.33). Skyler Burcham took fourth in the open 400 (54.94), and Atlantic’s 4×100 relay team of Elings, Rutherford, Gavin McLaren, and Benton McLaren finished fourth in 46.51. The Distance Medley Relay team of Robinson, Wiederstein, B. McLaren, and Hansen finished fourth in a time of 4:08.89. Holden Devore finished fourth in the 200 Meters in 23.98, Grant Petty finished sixth in the 110 Meter Hurdles in a time of 16.69.
In the field events, Gavin McLaren placed third in the shot put with a throw of 49-10.25, while Donovan Hedrington was sixth at 45-07.00. McLaren also finished seventh in the discus (144-03.03). Landon Hagen took fourth in the long jump (19-08.50), and Dominic Elings recorded a 19-11.00 mark competing at the junior varsity level.

Elsewhere, Bill Gerry of Lewis Central won the 110 Meter Hurdles in 15.02. Cale Hall of Red Oak topped the field in the 200 Meters in 22.19, and Sam Shields of Harlan finished second in a time of 23.64. Cole Graham of Shenandoah won the 400 Meters in 52.06, and Jackson Walter of St. Albert won the 400 Meter Hurdles in a time of 57.62. Reese Montgomery of Red Oak earned a victory in the 800 Meters in a time of 2:03.88, and teammate Hayden Hietbrink finished second in 2:07.70. Emmanuel Grass of Red Oak had a great night, winning the 3200 in 10:22.20 — he then turned around in about 10 minutes and ran the 2nd leg of the 4×800 relay and established a strong lead as the Tigers won at 8:30.79. And Cole Graham of Shenandoah beat Cale Hall of Red Oak in the 400 52.06 to 52.50.
Titus Steng of Shenandoah won the 801 Meters in 2:11.56 and took first in the 201y event in a time of 30.88.
Glenwood took first in the 800-Sprint Medley Relay with Eiseman, Ludwig, Powles, and Stephens in 1:38.63; they were also first in the Distance Medley Relay with Pitzen, Razor, Stanislav and Keller at 3:50.46. Clarinda with (Wagoner, Phillips, Baumgart, and Roop) won the 4×100 Meter Relay in 43.93. Lewis Central with (Mortensen, Parks, Scott, and Phippen) won the 4×200 Meter Relay in a time of 1:33.52.
In the field events: As mentioned Ethan McNeil of Atlantic won the Long Jump with a 21-05.00. Simon Hennings of Shenandoah won the Discus with a new season PR (166-01). Glenwood went 1-2 in the High Jump with Evan Stanislav 1st at 6-03 and Chase Razor 2nd at 6-00. Hunter Infanger of Lewis Central won the Shot Put (57-09) with a new season PR.
