(Ames, IA) — Iowa St. Women’s Basketball Head Coach Bill Fennelly’s cell phone is probably burning up right now as he tries to restock his team. The Cyclones made three additions on Sunday so the coach can breathe a little easier. Alex Anne Bessette has transferred to ISU from Loyola Chicago, Sienna Harvey has transferred from Washington and Sioux City Bishop Heelan’s Melina Snoozy will join the Cyclones in 2027.
Bessette is a 6’2″ center from Quebec City, Quebec, Canada and played one season for the Ramblers. She averaged 11.3 points and 3.4 rebounds a game plus hit 28.6 percent from three point land, going 34 of 129. She started every game but one for Loyola and still has three seasons of eligibility remaining. She will give Fennelly some options in the center spot joining transfer Giflt Ezekiel from Florida as starting options in the post.
Harvey is a 5’10” guard from Australia who played one season with the Huskies. She averaged 3.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10.8 minutes a game for Washington in her freshman season. She was a member of the Australian national team in the Under 19 World Cup and averaged 5.8 points, 3.2 assists and 2.8 rebounds to help her team win the silver medal. Harvey joined the Melbourne Tigers for the 2025 NBL1 South Season, where she averaged 12.6 points, 3.4 assists, and 3.2 rebounds on 48.5 percent shooting from the field in 14 games. She still has three seasons of eligibility remaining
Bessette and Harvey become the fourth and fifth player to join Iowa St. via the transfer portal with Ezekiel, Mya Babbitt from Kent St and on Saturday Ashleigh Connor from LaSalle. Returners include Arianna Jackson — the only starter coming back — Evangelia Paulk and Freya Jensen. With Macy Comito an incoming freshman from Carlisle, the Cyclones roster sits at 9 players as of Sunday night.
Snoozy is an in-state recruit that was sought after by multiple teams. She averaged over 20 points a game this past season for the Crusaders and a career high 8.1 rebounds per contest. Snoozy is a three tine first team All State player. Ironically, Snoozy and Heelan battled Comito and Carlisle in this year’s state tournament with the Wildcats upsetting the Crusaders in the semifinals.
