(Greenfield) The Adair County Board of Supervisors approved the FY2027 budget during their Wednesday morning meeting. They also approved salary increases for elected officials.
Adair County Auditor Mandy Berg told KSOM/KS95 News that the county’s fund balance has decreased compared to previous years. She said the General Fund balance is currently at 9 percent, while the general supplemental fund stands at 2.4 percent. She typically likes the fund balance at the 20-to-25 percent level.
The budget shows an urban levy for FY2027 of 5.09414 per $1,000 of valuation. The Rural levy will be set at 8.89076. Both are slightly lower than last year’s budget.
Additionally, the Supervisors settled on a 2.8 percent salary increase across the board for elected officials. The County Attorney received an additional $2,500 raise on top of the 2.8 percent. The Board of Supervisors took a zero percent increase.
