(Ames, IA) — Iowa St. Men’s Basketball Head Coach T.J. Otzelberger is moving at warp speed to restock his roster — on Monday two more players have committed to ISU via the transfer portal. Robert Morris guard Ryan Prather and UNI forward will both dress for the Cyclones next season.
Prather is a 6’5″ swing guard who led the Colonials in scoring at 15.7 points per game plus added 3.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. He had the best assist to turnover ratio in the country and was named Second Team All Horizon League. Prather could play either guard spot and with the addition of JaQuan Johnson on Sunday, the Cyclones have a dynamic two guard punch to add to Killyan Toure and replace Tamin Lipsey. Prather has one season of eligibility remaining.
Bond is a 6’5″ small forward who averaged 11.9 points and 4.7 rebounds a game for the Panthers. He had 12 points for Northern Iowa in the first round loss to St. John’s in the NCAA Tournament. He was a Missouri Valley All Conference defensive player and on the all-tournament team. Bond has one season of eligibility remaining.
Prather and Bond join Taj Manning from Kansas St., JaQuan Johnson from Bradley and Tre Singleton from Northwest who announced their transfers to Iowa St. over the weekend.
In other Cyclone news, Milan Momcilovic will not be back with Cyclones next season. He has entered his name in the transfer portal which makes him the #1 player available but he also plans to enter his name into the NBA Draft. The portal ends on April 21 and the draft is not until June 22.
