(Atlantic) Chase Roller secured a seat on the Atlantic School Board in a tightly contested special election held on Tuesday. The election was held for an open position following Laura McLean’s departure, who moved out of the area. A petition initiated in February prompted the special election.
According to unofficial results released by the Cass County Auditor’s Office, Chase Roller garnered 270 votes, making up 38.46 percent of the total. His opponents, Dianna Blake and Jordan Zarbano, received 222 votes (31.62 percent) and 210 votes (29.91 percent), respectively.
Out of 5,682 registered voters, there were 706 ballots cast (12.43%) and 702 eligible votes cast during the March 31st Special Election.
Roller expressed his gratitude for the support he received throughout the election process in a statement to KSOM/KS95 News.
He emphasized his eagerness to immerse himself in the role, learn the intricacies of the school board, and make a positive impact for teachers, students, and the community.
With a background in social work, Chase Roller brings nearly two decades of experience as a parole officer in Cass and Audubon Counties. He has also contributed as an EMT and volunteered as a firefighter in three different communities, in addition to coaching student athletes across various levels.
