(Lewis) This year’s 18th Annual Red Neck Poker Run on Saturday featured an outpouring of support for the Ryan and Sarah Archibald family from Lewis, Iowa. Rob Stamp, secretary and treasurer for the group, tells KSOM/KS95 that 116 riders from across southwest Iowa participated in the event, raising $2,930 for the Lucy Cohrs Memorial Fund. Lucy lost her life in a tragic motor vehicle accident in late June.
This year’s Poker Run route traveled through the Lewis and Griswold area. Stamp says Ryan and Sarah were able to attend the event, where the group surprised the family with a generous donation to the Lucy Cohrs Memorial Fund.
Stamp says it was a phenomenal day for a great cause, noting that the top three winners donated all of their proceeds back to the Lucy Cohrs Memorial Fund.
Stamp thanks everyone who turned out for this event this year.
Each year, the group selects a charity to support. Two years ago, the proceeds went to the Schools Backpack Program, while last year’s funds were donated to the Lewis Fire Department.
