(Adair County) A jury on Monday convicted a man in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in 2025.
Yudiel Vega-Blanco was found guilty of first-degree murder and willful injury causing bodily injury. He was arrested by Greenfield police in April 2025 at a residence in Greenfield.
According to court documents, at approximately 12:45 a.m. on April 19, 2025, the Adair County Communication Center received a 911 call reporting a stabbing in the 200 block of NE 4th Street in Greenfield.
Officers from the Greenfield Police Department responded to the scene and discovered a deceased Hispanic male inside the residence. Court documents alleged he stabbed Carlos Garcia Escalona in the chest with a knife from the kitchen. Escalona died at the scene.
Yudiel Vega-Blanco, 39, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Adair County Jail.
