(Adair Co.) Adair County Supervisor Jodie Hoadley presented an updated draft ordinance regulating data centers to the Board of Supervisors this morning.
Hoadley said she also shared the ordinance with Union and Madison counties, as they are working on similar efforts. She noted that Union County plans to implement a moratorium on data centers.
The proposed ordinance is in response to a planned high-voltage transmission line in the Hebron area.
The ordinance would not prevent developers from coming in, but it would establish restrictions to address environmental and quality-of-life concerns.
No action was taken on the ordinance today.
In other news, the Supervisors held a public hearing this morning on the FY27 Property Tax Levy. There were no public comments. The board set April 15 at 9:15 a.m. as the date for the public hearing on the FY27 budget.
