(Guthrie Center, IA) — Jotham Arbor, the Guthrie County Director of Public Health, says that his department will start offering radon testing in the spring.
Iowa has the highest radon levels in the country and Arbor is piloting a new program where they will offer radon tests to Guthrie County residents and they are not the send away kind
Arbor says they will invest in 2 or 3 units and residents can reserve them starting in the spring — first come, first serve says Arbor who also says they will be able to figure out where the radon pockets are in the county and other reasons as well
The Guthrie County Supervisors also passed the first consideration of Resolution 26-10 declaring emergency medical services an essential service in Guthrie County — the vote was 4-1 with Supervisor Mike Dickson voting no.
The Supervisors also went into closed session with County Attorney Dana Minteer to discuss prospective litigation.
