(Elk Horn) The Exira/EHK School Board voted 6-1 on Monday to go to a four-day school week starting in the 2025-2026 school year. During the discussion portion, eight people voiced their opinions on the issue, with seven for the switch and one against going to four days per week.
Exira/EHK Shared Schools Superintendent Trevor Miller began looking at options to retain and hire quality teachers.

Audio PlayerIn other business, the school board approved a 4.6 percent salary package increase for the certified staff and a $1.00 per hour increase for non-certified staff. Additionally, the board approved a three percent package salary increase for principals, a 4-percent salary increase for the shared School Business Officer and HR, and a two percent package increase for the shared Superintendent.
