(Waukee) Atlantic competed at the Regional Boy’s Swim meet at Waukee on Saturday. Waukee was one of the six regional sites across the state. The fastest 32 individual swimmers and 24 relay teams from district competition qualified for state competition. The state meet is scheduled for Feb. 14-15 at the University of Iowa’s Campus Recreation & Wellness Center in Iowa City. Atlantic Head Coach Cody McCreedy says Teagan Kinzie competing in the 50-yard freestyle para was the lone competitor in his heat and finished in a time of 1:39.57.
Coach McCreedy says no other Trojan swimmers made it to next week’s state meet. “Despite the fact we did not get anyone into the state meet, everyone swam a personal best and cracked the top five times in program history in four events,” said McCreedy. “On top of the that, Keaton Rieken broke his own program record in the 100 Yard Fly.
