(Waukee) The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says the Coyote population in Iowa is at an all-time high, and Waukee residents can vouch for that. Waukee residents posted videos and warnings about coyotes roaming through neighborhoods in packs. One person says they counted five coyotes near Warrior Lane and Hickman. Another spotted four coyotes on Gracewood Drive near the new trail by the creek. The Animal Rescue League says coyotes are generally not dangerous for humans but could threaten small dogs and cats.
