(Iowa City) Audi Crooks delivered an impressive performance with 31 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the 17th-ranked Cyclones from falling 75-69 to No. 24 Iowa. The loss marked Iowa State’s (8-3) third consecutive defeat in the series and extended their losing streak in Iowa City to nine games.
The Cyclones held a three-point lead at halftime, bolstered by a late three-pointer from Kelsey Joens, and entered the fourth quarter ahead 56-53. However, the game slipped away in the final stretch.
Iowa, staying within striking distance throughout, seized momentum with a 9-0 run to take control. Hannah Stuelke’s layup gave the Hawkeyes a 62-61 edge with 4:24 remaining, a lead they would not relinquish.
Plagued by poor free throw shooting (6-for-16) and 21 turnovers, the Cyclones couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities, allowing Iowa to secure the hard-fought victory.
