(Des Moines) The Iowa State Fair’s famous butter cow will share the display with butter sculptures of “Tonight Show” comedians Johnny Carson and Steve Higgins, both Iowa natives. Carson, who hosted the show from 1962 to 1992, was born in Corning, Iowa, and later lived in Avoca and Red Oak before moving to Nebraska. Higgins, the show’s announcer since 2014, hails from Des Moines. These butter sculptures, along with one of current host Jimmy Fallon, will be exhibited alongside the iconic sky glider chair at the John Deere Agriculture Building from August 8 to August 18, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
