(Atlantic) The Atlantic football team takes on Denison-Schleswig in the Trojans’ home opener on Friday night. The Trojans fell short to Glenwood last week, 63-48. The young Trojan team trailed 35-14 at the break; however, the Trojans kept it even in the second half and hope to build off that momentum into the game against the Monarchs on Friday.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says the biggest improvements he wants to see from week one to week two are in tackling, turnovers, and the running game. The Trojans rushed for 99 yards last week against Glenwood.
Denison-Schleswig rushed for 133 yards, and Karsen Bruhn went 9-15 throwing the football for 104 yards.
Coach Brummer says another player the Trojans will key on is wide receiver and defensive back Wilson Riphin.
Coach Brummer admits the Trojans will be outsized on the front line, which will be the case most of the entire season.
