(Bridgewater, IA) – Before the storms rolled into town this weekend, twenty student anglers rolled out into Mormon Trail Lake to catch five fish. Atlantic Trojan Angler, Joaquin Wailes of Wiota, IA, caught a total of five fish that totaled 71.25” to win the Powerade High School Division on Sunday. Wiota’s Jake Wailes nabbed second place with a bag total of 70.50”. Third place was captured by Underwood’s Lucas Bose with 70.00”, Atlantic’s Gavin Dougherty earned fourth at 68.25”, and Christian Thompson came in fifth with a bag of 67.00”.
In the Fairlife Junior Division, Atlantic’s Brendan Wilke earned a full bag limit measuring 73.50” to come in first place. Holden DeVore came in as the runner-up with a bag of 67.76” while Grayson Molgaard earned third at 58.75”. Riverside angler Colton Krueger earned fourth at 54.00” and Tidus Bateman earned fifth at 52.00”.
The local anglers will get out on the lake once again for the SWIFT Stine Kayak tournament on Saturday, June 22nd at Carroll’s Swan Lake. You can find all the results of last weekend’s tournament below.
