(Atlantic) Atlantic and Harlan square off in a boys’ basketball game tonight at Atlantic. This will be the second meeting between these two teams in less than one week. Harlan topped the Trojans on their home court on February 6, 53-33. The Trojans are coming off a 67-65 overtime win over Lenox last Friday night.
Atlantic Head Coach Dalton Franken says they knew they had a size advantage and wanted to get the ball inside. The Trojan’s 6’2 sophomore Gavin McLaren came through with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Colton Rasmussen played a big part in the Trojans’ fourth-quarter run with 13 points and added another key free throw in overtime. The 6’3 senior finished with 33 points.
Nolan Waters buried a key three-point shot to start the overtime period.
Brock Henderson came off the bench and had a solid performance.
Coach Franken says the game tonight with Harlan will be another battle. He adds the Trojans match up pretty well inside.
Harlan post player Franz Reis got a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Cyclones were productive outside the paint. Will Arkfeld was 4/6 from beyond the three-point line and finished with 12 points. Gavin McLaren led Atlantic with 17 points.
Atlantic enters the contest with a 6-14 record. Harlan is 12-7.
