(Elk Horn, IA) – The magic number seems to be 67 for the Exira-EHK Spartans as they’ve won their last two games by scoring 67 total points after they defeated CAM 67-41. Head Coach Tony Santistaben is proud of his boys for taking the win, but they’ve got to now look at what’s ahead.
Both Jackson Radcliff and Cash Emgarten had 16 points each on the night. Radcliff continued to make some tight post-moves and was aggressive defensively, while Cash Emgarten was taking every opportunity to drive up the lane, utilizing his speed and agility.
Another player who had an impressive performance was Aiden Flathers with a total of eight points on the night. From the long-range banked-in three-pointer to end the first half, to controlling the offensive tempo, he was an essential force to the Spartans’ success on Friday night.
For the other Spartans on the night, Jameson Kilworth drove to the hoop and put down 10 points while Josh Nelson was right behind with eight. Jaiden Pettepier and Austin Rasmussen finished off scoring on the night with three and two points respectively.
On the opposite side for CAM, the Cougars were led on the night by Collin Bower as he knocked down 17 points, 10 of which came in the second half of action. Chase Jahde and Chase Spieker both knocked down eight points, the majority of which came in the first half of action. Cody Venteicher put down three points while Ryan Bower and Lukas James each had two points.
With it being senior night for Exira-EHK, Coach Santistaben wanted to thank Aiden Flathers, Cole Brabham, Cash Emgarten, Jameson Kilworth, Jonas LaCanne, Jaiden Pettepier, Quintinn White, and Jackson Radcliff for all their hard work and that he loved being able to coach such a great group of individuals.
Exira-EHK has a quick turnaround when they take on Lenox tomorrow, while CAM has a break before they battle Ar-We-Va on Monday. The Spartans improved to 15-4 overall while the Cougars fell to 9-9 on the season.
