(Indianola) Former Atlantic standout Haley Rasmussen enters her junior year of eligibility at Simpson College after a successful run her sophomore year.
Rasmussen, Atlantic girl’s basketball’s all-time leading scorer, took her talents to Simpson College. She was named newcomer of the year in her freshman season, appearing in 22 games, scoring 68 points, 21 rebounds, 17 steals, 12 assists, and shot 86.4 percent from the free throw line.
Rasmussen’s role changed dramatically during her sophomore year. She was thrust into a leadership role, averaged 13.3 points per game, and earned second-team all-conference honors.
Rasmussen has been in the weight room this summer and the gym.
Simpson finished third in the Conference last season. Everyone is back from last season, and they set the bar much higher this season. Haley Rasmussen says Loras, Wartburg, and Central will be the teams to beat in 2023-2024.
