(Undated) Disagreements over a church’s approach to LGBTQ-plus policies have led to 83 conservative congregations opting out. The United Methodist Church in Iowa has approved a request from 83 congregations to disaffiliate from the church. The vote came after discussions on whether churches and clergy believe that LGBTQ-plus members should be allowed to marry and be ordained within the denomination.
