(Des Moines) The governor’s office would get a 500-thousand dollar increase in state spending next year under a proposed budget in the Iowa Senate. During the debate yesterday, the bill’s floor manager, Webster County Republican Senator Tim Kraayenbrink, said he didn’t know why the fund increased. Kraayenbrink said he is confident the extra money is not for pay raises. The proposal would give over 70 million dollars to state government administration and regulation in Fiscal Year 2024.
