(Creston) It was another excellent weekend for the Atlantic Archery Teams. The High School and Middle School squads won Saturday competitions at Creston and Orient-Macksburg.
The High School Crew shot a 3323 in the Bullseye Tourney at Creston, placing 11 players in the top ten. Lilly Johnson (287), Mariah Hadley (284), and Hallie Copeland (282) finished in the top three in the girl’s division. Katrina Williams finished eighth place with a (271), and Madeline Blake tenth with a (269).
Hank Roberts shot a 286 and grabbed the individual title in the boy’s tournament. Carter Smith finished third (279), Conner Johnson fourth (278), Tyrell Williams fifth (275), Brett Dreager seventh (273), and Devon Thompson ninth with a (271).
The Atlantic Middle School Team shot a 3214 and won the team title at the Creston meet with seven in the top ten. Grant Petty topped the boy’s field with a 291, just two points shy of his career-best performance. Henry Roland was second (281), Aiden Fredricksen fifth (275), and Callan Kluever finished tenth with a (265).
In the Middle School girl’s Division, Rylan Martin finished third, shooting a (272); Lily Wilrich, sixth, (267), and Jaquie Fruend shot (259), and finished in tenth place.
The two teams packed up and headed for a 3D Tournament at Orient, where they continued their success.
Carter Smith and Hallie Copeland led the high school squad with first-place finishes. Smith shot a 283 to top the boy’s field; Hank Roberts finished second overall with a 270. Matthew Roland finished fourth with a score of (268), Connor Johnson fifth (267), Devon Thompson sixth (267), Kyler Edie seventh (265), and Jaylen McDaniel was tenth with (263).
Copeland, the top shooter in the girl’s division, shot (276), Mariah Hadley was second with (275), Lily Johnson; was third (271), and Quincy Johnson was fourth with (265). Katina Williams finished sixth (259), Miraylie Stuart eighth (257), and Madeline Blake was ninth with a (256).
The Atlantic Middle School squad was equally impressive. Seven players had top-ten finishes, and the team won the title with 1605.
Grant Petty finished second individually in the boy’s division with a (278), Henry Roland third (277), and Michael Hocamp fifth with a (270).
Paislee Klever won the girl’s title, shooting a (263), Lily Wilrich second (258), Rylan Martin third (255), and Alyson Dreager was ninth with a (222).
The Trojans travel to West Des Moines next Saturday to compete in the 12th Annual Valley Tiger Bullseye Coach Tammy Zenti Memorial Tournament.
