(Atlantic) Steve Tjepkes, General Manager of the Atlantic Municipal Utilities, says a fallen tree branch caused a widespread power outage in and around Atlantic on Sunday afternoon.
Tjepkes says the wind caused a branch to break, land on a primary feeder line, and take out one of the major transformers that feed the town. He says half of the City lost electricity from about 12:50 to 1:50.
