(Atlantic) Atlantic carries momentum into Friday’s homecoming game against ADM. After dropping games to Glenwood and Kuemper, the Trojans downed Shenandoah 26—0 and came from behind last week to defeat Ballard 15-12.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says the Trojans gained confidence over the past two weeks.
One of the most significant improvements is in the defense, allowing an average of just six points over the last two games. Brummer says the run defense has dramatically improved.
The Trojans will have to bring their “A” game on Friday night when ADM comes to town. The Tigers are (4-0) and rated #2 in Class 3A behind Humboldt. Coach Brummer says the defense must adjust to ADM’s speed, led by Class 3A state track 200-meter champion Brevin Doll.
Coach Brummer says ADM is explosive, organized, and detailed oriented.
Atlantic quarterback Caden Andersen ranks fourth in Class 3A in passing yards with 846, and junior receiver Colton Rasmussen is third in Class 3A in receiving yards with 361. Carter Pellett leads Atlantic in catches with 20, Jackson McLaren and Rasmussen, 19, and Jayden Proehl has nine receptions.
ADM running back Brevin Doll leads Class 3A in rushing touchdowns (12), rushing yards (690), and all-purpose yards (938).
We will broadcast the game on 95.7 F.M. and live-video stream on westerniowatoday.com (KS95.7).
