(Council Bluffs) The Underwood boys edged Glenwood 105 to 101.50 to capture the team title at the COED Titan Relays at Lewis Central on Tuesday. Lewis Central finished third in the 15-team field with 95-points, Sioux City, East, fourth, 61, and Treynor fifth with 60-points.
Brendan Monahan of St. Albert was a triple winner in the sprints. The junior ran a season’s best and won the 100 meters in (10.91). Aidan Hall of Harlan finished a close second in a time of (10.96). Monahan also won the 200 Meters in a time of (22.07) and the 400 meters in (51.54), Jack King of Red Oak finished on Monahan’s heels in a time of (51.72).
Ryan Campbell of Sioux City, East won the 800 Meters in a time of (2:04.05), Scott Pearson and Byrce Patten of Underwood finished second and third. Carter Davis of Underwood won the 110 Meter High Hurdles in (15.31), Tyler Boldra, and Anthony Driscoll, both from Glenwood finished two and three. Baylor Bergren of Red Oak won the 1600 Meters in (4:41.41), Colin Lillie of St. Albert finished second, and Drew Engler of Atlantic was third. Lillie won the 3200 Meters, in (9:56.55). Todd Pedersen of Treynor won the 400 Meter Hurdles in (56.70).
In the Relays; Treynor won the 4×100, (44.75), and the 4×200, (1:33.81), Sioux City, East won the 4×400 in (3:33.21), and Underwood won the 4×800, (8:45.13), and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay in (1:02.46). Red Oak won the Sprint Medley, (1:38.40), and Glenwood outran the field in the Distance Medley Relay in a time of 3:55.81.
In the field events; Jacob Hoffman, of Sergeant Bluff-Luton won the High Jump, (6-00), Jonathan Humpal of Lewis Central won the Long Jump, (20.08.00), Logyn Eckheart, of Glenwood won the discus with a throw of (145-00), and Thomas Huneke, of Underwood, won the Shot Put with a throw of (52-11.25).
