(Atlantic) Atlantic/CAM defeated Glenwood 49-22, and Clarinda 64-9 in a double-dual at Atlantic on Thursday night.
The Trojans won nine of 14 matches against Glenwood. Aiden Smith, (106), Easton O’Brien, (132), Tanner O’Brien, (145), and Kadin Stutzman, (170) won by fall. Cruz Weaver, (120), won by a major decision, Dante Hedrington, (138), won by decision, and Ethan Follmann, ( 126), Jarrett Armstrong, (182) won by forfeit.
For Glenwood, Vincent Mayberry, (113), and Trent Patton, (285), won by fall. Kellen Scott, (152), and Tyler Boldra won by decision, and C.J. Carter, (195), prevailed with a major decision.
Atlantic/CAM came out and wrestled with the same intensity against Clarinda. The match was highlighted by the two ranked wrestlers at 106. Aiden Smith of Atlantic/CAM rated 6th, and Kadin Whipp 8th ranked squared off in a match that brought the fans to their feet. Whipp turned Smith to his back, and moments later Smith countered with a cradle and pinned Whipp midway through the second period. Kadin Stutzman, 2nd rated in Class 2A, and Karson Downey unranked for Clarinda went into overtime in the (170) bout. Stutzman shot for a quick takedown in overtime, and won 5-3, notching his 150th career win. Jarrett Armstrong, (182), upset 7th rated Jase Wilmes by a 9-2 decision.
For Clarinda, Kale Downey, (152) won by decision, and Logan Green, (285) scored a pin.
