(Kimballton) The power has been restored in Kimballton
Vernon Schwarte of the Kimballton Fire Department and Public Information Officer says it took a lot of hard work, dedication, and countless hours from volunteers. Audubon County Emergency Management, NIPCO, MRES, City of Atlantic Municipal Utilities, and many more assisted with the repair process.
Schwarte says a blown a fuse caused the outage. Pieces of the fuse fell into the lower parts of the cabinet and couldn’t be seen. City officials feared they were dealing with a malfunctioning transformer that would have taken weeks or months to get back up and running.
Schwarte thanks residents for their patience and understanding while the process of elimination was taking place.
