(Camp Dodge) More Iowa National Guard soldiers are heading to the Southeast, this time to Florida, to help with Hurricane Milton. The soldiers are with the 11-68th Transportation Company in Perry, Marshalltown, and Audubon will be assisting with moving essential supplies in Florida in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Milton. The Guard says they’ll be using vehicles that can sustain high water to get around. They’re set to leave this afternoon. Iowa Army National Guard helicopter crews have been in North Carolina for nearly a week, helping with relief efforts after Hurricane Helene.
