(Guthrie Center, IA) — There was debate at Tuesday’s Guthrie County Board of Supervisors over the Sheriff’s Budget concerning housing out of county inmates in the Guthrie County Jail.
That was one Guthrie County resident who voiced her concern. Supervisor Mike Dickson raised the issue that overtime for Guthrie County officers was used for out of county inmates. Sheriff Marty Arganbright defended his department
The Supervisors did approved the appropriations of the sheriff’s office budget in the last quarter and decided to increase it by 25 percent in a 5-0 vote. Arganbright says the department is underfunded.
